Cookham classics are absolutely brilliant. From the moment I phoned about the car to the moment I picked it up they’ll was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. My new car is absolutely beautiful & I am over the moon with it. If I ever get bored of this car (doubt it) I’ll be straight back to Cookham classics to source me another car! These guys are over a 2 hour drive from me but it was worth every single mile I travelled and more. Thankyou so much guys! What an amazing team!!

Max appears to be a genuine guy but can’t comment on anybody else in the organisation.I placed a Deposit for a vehicle which was being advertised on their website. No paperwork/receipt received to this effect. I was informed that a previous Buyer pulled out due to export costs. I agreed a fair offer with Max once knowing the vehicle was available again. Max and Myself spent a lot of time obtaining information on the vehicle and agreed a date that the vehicle could be collected and all purchase details finalised. A taxi and Insurance were arranged for this date.At 4pm the day before collection of the car, I was told that the Seller will not provide the Finance Agreement details in order for the finance to be settled (by me presumably) and that they would be in touch when they have spoken with the vehicle Owner. (I was told previously by Max that he had the settlement figure ready for the date of collection). I chased this up the following day and was told the same so requested my Deposit back, as I was told that the Seller was ‘messing him about’. I was told that the Seller had changed his mind about selling as he had secured finance (his reason to sell was to raise finance – the agreed selling price was £85k (with £77k finance so he was looking to presumably raise only £8K!)I noticed that days after I placed the Deposit, the advert was updated with the current mileage, so I believe that somebody in the organisation did not agree with Max reducing the price and are hoping to receive more for the car than we had agreed. As at Yesterday, 02/12/24 the advertised price was £89,995 almost £5k more than was originally agreed. The car was listed as ‘Deposit taken’ so presumably somebody has paid £5k more than I believed I was buying the car for. The car has now been removed from advertising.The Company received Compulsory Strike Off Action (check with Companies House-discontinued as at 24/11/24) so proceed with caution.The said car was still being advertised as being available, despite it probably still being under Finance, and even though the Seller has ‘decided not to sell’. It has been a very bad experience for me and an utter waste of time and effort. If a car is advertised for sale and a price has been agreed with Deposit paid, there is no reason for the car to be withdrawn from the sale. If the car was never available to sell and still under finance it should never have been advertised in the first place. Obviously, the car was for sale but somebody in the organisation decided they could obtain more for the car than I had agreed with Max. They never had the decency to be honest with me and just strung me along right up to the day before collection just to chase for money. Make your own mind up and be very cautious.
